Résumé
In the face of the growing challenges posed by climate change, the issue of water resources has become central, making it essential to anticipate major hydrological events such as droughts, water shortages, and floods. Such anticipation relies on a thorough understanding of the physical processes that govern water dynamics. By improving models and developing more reliable simulation tools, hydrological research contributes to better operational responses, strengthens the resilience of territories, and supports the adaptation of public policies to ongoing environmental transformations. The objective of this internship was to critically assess the results produced by the BigBang hydrological model by comparing them with other data sources in order to verify their consistency and reliability. Conducted within the Department of Environmental, Land and Infrastructure Engineering at Politecnico di Torino, the internship was supervised by Maria Elena Alfano, a PhD candidate working on water resources management. The study focused on the hydrological aspects of the Orco Valley, located north of Turin.
