Résumé

The aim of the internship was to draw a link between air quality in California and the agriculture of cannabis grows all over the American state. The first mission during the internship was to locate cannabis plants in Californian watersheds ; the goal is to know their location, their size, number and age, using Google Earth Pro services and tools. At the end, this study aimed to build statistics and to know better how the cannabis agriculture spreads in California. The second mission was a full project at its very beginning : to underline the link between air quality in California and cannabis grows. As a means, the software ARCMap from the ARCGis group has been used to find the hotspots in question. Thanks to two different processes and tools (of its one) used through this software, it has been possible to highlight some areas sensitive to air quality favourable for cannabis pollution, like the Bay Area, the San Bernardinio County and especially the Los Angeles’ area. Nevertheless, this study remains at its very beginning and needs numerous other improvements : the data used are given by external organizations and do not consist in a model extremely precised that fits the complex reality of the chemical exchange that happen in California. This internship will probably be the first step to a bigger project that can lead to a collaboration between my tutor and the professor William Vizuete.
