Résumé

The present study examines the directivity of the noise generated by a single 850 kW pitch-regulated wind turbine. Both trailing edge noise and turbulent inflow noise are studied. Experimental data is used to compute the sound pressure levels around the wind turbine in order to find a directivity pattern for wind turbine noise. A model predicting wind turbine aerodynamics coupled to noise models then give predictions for wind turbine noise. The pattern found by analizing the experimental data presents SPL that are lower in the crosswind direction than in the upwind or downwind directions. It is compared to the model predictions, and the results from the experimental data and from the model agree quite well in the mid- and high-frequency domains. In low frequencies, differences appear, giving indications to improve the model.
