Résumé

The vertical mixing of ocean water is an important aspect of the global ocean circulation. This circulation is mainly due to the movement of water according to its density. But this density is affected by both its temperature and salinity. The warm and salty Atlantic water is transported through the North Sea and the Lofoten Basin. The Atlantic water flow then reaches the Barrent Sea or the Arctic Sea through the Fram Strait. The salt water then loses and releases heat as it moves northwards, becoming even denser. In this sea, numerous moorings are installed to evaluate the evolution and characteristics of the water due to the Atlantic influx. The aim is to create cross-sections of the ocean in order to understand how the water properties evolve. To do this, we will see that the results depend on the setups of our models. We will then try to couple two important models to obtain more accurate results. For this purpose, we use the sea ice model CICE and the regional model Ocean ROMS with the coupling model MCT.
