Résumé

This report focuses on a 12-week research internship in the EarthresQue Center in Ås, Norway. The internship had two main topics : the life cycle assessment of landĄll top-cover materials in partnership with NORSUS and the measurement of hexavalent chromium concentration in leachate water from concrete in partnership with NGI. Concerning the Ąrst one, the aim was to review the existing literature and collect data for the establishment of a comparative life cycle assessment between alternative materials : dry crust clay, lime cement stabilised clay, press Ąlter residual and bentonite membrane. The full life cycle assessment was not supposed to be performed. As for Cr(VI) concentration measurements, it was a laboratory project aiming to test a water analyser machine and perform experiments about leachates from concrete with a view to reusing concrete from construction and demolition wastes. Results demonstrated that the instrument was precise enough to be used as a research tool, that the concentration of Cr(VI) almost doesn’t change with time in a time frame of three weeks and that soil with organic content seems to have an annihilation effect when the liquid stay in contact for long time (12 hours). On a wider scale, the goal of this internship
