Abstract
The top-of-atmosphere energy budget is the net difference between the incoming and outgoing energy in our climate system. When this energy budget is altered, whether by human or natural causes, we talk about 'radiative forcing.' Our climate system will then respond by either warming or cooling, depending on whether it has gained or lost energy. Increasing the concentration of a greenhouse gases in the air creates a radiative forcing which depends on the nature of the gas. When doing a life cycle assesment, it is essential to take into account the impact of these gases. The aim of this study is to create a tool that will enable existing indices to be easily calculated and create new indices more precise.
