Abstract
This research project involves conducting a mass-energy balance on a biomass boiler. This study is part of a life cycle analysis of heat production, with the aim of ptimizing the use of waste wood and fully harnessing its energy potential. The study focuses on combustion theory to establish the mass-energy balance of the boiler, followed by the selection and implementation of the necessary measurement instruments to calculate the balances. A final experimental phase provided an first characterization of the wood, which is essential to improve the mass and energy balance and optimize the performance of the biomass boiler.
