Abstract

Micro-machining is a field in which it is very difficult to know in advance the right machining parameters or even the milling strategy to use. It is therefore necessary to carry out several trials until the desired result is obtained, in terms of compliance with tolerances and surface finish. This internship is part of that process, since it involves machining a micro-slot with two notches in an aluminium part. In the course of this report, the various stages leading up to the final machining will be detailed, as well as the concepts relating to micro-machining and measurement techniques.
