Abstract
A pendulum may seem to be one of the most basic dynamic system. However, the study becomes more complicated as soon as the pendulum is in a turbulent flow. Turbulence is a field of fluid mechanics which is really complex to study. Because of the non-linear Navier-Stokes equations, it is complicated to predict the behaviour of objects in a flow. This internship enabled me to study the influence of turbulence on the oscillations of objects with various sizes and to characterise the flow in which they were located. The overall goal was to understand the evolution of the typical parameters of the pendulum such as his damping coefficient and the forces on his sides.
