Abstract
The Faraday cage is a metallic structure designed to protect against electric and magnetic fields. It is widely used in various fields, such as electronics to shield sensitive equipment from electromagnetic interference, in laboratories to create controlled measurement environments, and in the construction sector to protect buildings from the impacts of electromagnetic discharges. Additionally, it is applied in lightning protection devices and telecommunications equipment to ensure clear and interference-free transmission. The objective of my research internship is to conduct a thorough theoretical and numerical study by solving time-harmonic Maxwell's equations that describe the behavior of the field around the Faraday cage using the finite element method. In parallel, I will perform simulations on the Faraday cage by varying different parameters to study their effects on the distribution of the electric field. This approach will analyze how changes in parameters affect the behavior of the field and optimize the performance of the Faraday cage.
