Abstract
This report deal with the particles' behavior in a turbulent flow, specially in the installation of TU Wien : the Water channel. These analyses have the goal to solve problems for industrial processes and above all for the environment, because particles' behavior is not fully understood yet. Experiments were made to obtain data about the flow, a significant portion of the research involved comparing the data convergence and the particles' data velocity. First, the influence of image processing is comparing, in second the PIV method is comparing with RAFT-PIV, a new method using Machine-Learning. The study revealed that image processing have approximately no influence on the convergence of data and that RAFT-PIV is more efficient near the wall (with the data obtained in the TU Wien water channel), but in the center of the flow, both methods are equivalent.
