Abstract
As a designated laboratory by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), various requests for pure chemical references arise from the analytical chemistry department of French Ministry of Defense’s “DGA Maîtrise NRBC”. Therefore, we aim at exploring novel approaches towards the synthesis of a variety of peptides, serving as references in the detection of an exposure to chemical warfare agents such as V and G agents (phosphorus neurotoxics) and thioethers (vesicants). We first synthesized phosphorylated nonapeptides, in the term of a multiple-step synthesis from the preparation of adducts to the use of Solid-Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPPS) for the final preparation of phosphorylated nonapeptides. Through these steps, we achieved the synthesis of the desired products, successfully meeting the expressed requirements in terms of purity. Then, a second study was completed, on adapting SPPS methods to the preparation of sulfurated tripeptides as biomarkers of sulfur mustard exposure.
