Abstract

This work is about the study of the influence of surfactants on bubble dynamic using direct numerical simulation (DNS). Surfactants, by localy modifying surface tension, play an important role in the deformation of interfaces and on bubble dynamic. This intership, done in CEA Saclay, consisted in the evaluation and improvementoftheimplemantationofsurfactants in the computational fluid dynamics software TrioCFD. After a brief presentation of the physical context, several test cases will be presented in order to evaluate remeshing, diffusion, advection and the Marangoni effect. These results are in good agreement with analytical solutions and confirm the ability of the model to capture the expected physical phenomenons. The study of the drag of contaminated bubbles has also been started. Although currently the results are not satisfactory, they show a qualitive agreement with analytical results.
