Abstract

A fully automated analysis algorithm was developed to process the first characterization of the plasma in VINETA.75 using Chen’s method and the OML theory. It yields densities between 1017 to 1018 m−3 and electron temperatures around 2 eV. A five tip langmuir probe called the Kubo probe was designed to measure the Kubo number, the diffusion coefficient and the Reynolds stress. The Kubo number wasmeasured to be greater than one and ranging from 1 to 100. The Reynolds stress ranges from 0 to 10−2 Pa while the diffusion coefficient is between 0 and 1m2.s−1. A linear dependancy of the Kubo number, the diffusion coefficient and the Reynolds stress with the absolute density gradient was found.
