Abstract

The Quality Assurance team implements various processes to ensure compliance with internationally recognized quality standards. Some of these processes may include manual verification of software requirements or behaviors. While manual verification is functional, it is time-consuming and often uninteresting for those performing it, as it mostly consists of repetitive and, at times, tedious tasks. Ansys is a leading provider of simulation tools that support the design and validation of projects at every stage. The search for improvements and efficiency gains is a continuous process, and this internship aims to explore ways of enhancing quality assurance by automating tasks whenever possible. The aim of this work is to provide new tools that enhance quality assurance processes, ranging from the creation of new functions for the current ARM tool used in automatic testing, to the research and development of an image comparison function capable of automating the visual verification of simulation results. These improvements are expected to yield time savings for the team and produce more reliable outcomes, thereby ensuring the quality of the simulation results delivered by Ansys in its optics software.
