Abstract
Fibrosis results in increased lung stiffness that induces a restrictive lung disease with decreased lung volumes on PFT. The purpose for detect fibrosis is to differentiate fibrotic and healthy lung parenchyma through assess the lung elasticity. In order to evaluate lung elasticity, this project first give a method for one target image and multi-source images lung registration using MATLAB and DROP, then calculate two measures of regional lung ventilation: the specific air volume change calculated from the Jacobian (SAJ) and the specific air volume change calculated by the corrected Jacobian (SACJ), in addition, apply the procedure on the EMPIRE 10 dataset.
