Abstract

Ocean’s dynamics is widely studied through several models, though stays only partially known. Mastering that field has numerous applications, as civilian as military. This internship aimed at assessing the accuracy of a code, the CROCO code, by comparing the model outputs with field datas. The idea was then to be able to analyse files and display them thanks to python codes, but also to compile and run the CROCO code. Another goal was to go on litterature in order to discover physical oceanography and to have more specific knowledges which could be uselful to improve the code. The study of the results allowed to highlight different defects which can be corrected, however is only the beginning of a long term work.
