Abstract
Organic farming is a solution for sustainable agriculture, in a context of increasing demands. However it is difficult to implement, mainly because it requires close surveillance, which restrains most of the farmers from applying it. The Internet of Things enables the connection of different sensors and devices: applying this technology to agriculture allows farmers to easily monitor their crops in order to control them and gain in efficiency. The aim of this research project was to explore the possibilities of smart agriculture for monitoring in organic farming. We used a microcontroller connected to multiple sensors and a vehicle, collected various data, and sent them to a cloud through Wi-Fi connection. The data is then displayed and analyzed in order to keep the user updated, as well as to warn them of problems and risks.
