Abstract

High-order absorbing boundary conditions (HABC) are a range of techniques helpful for the simulation of wave propagation problems defined on very large regions, aiming at reducing the computational domain by using specific non-reflections techniques at the boundary of the domain. Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) methods are a class of Finite Element Methods efficient for large-domain simulations. We propose here a coupling between. a HABC method for Maxwell’s equations and a DG solver in establishing this coupling are addressed. We implement this method in C++. Encouraging preliminary results are presented and discussed. Keywords: Numerical simulation, Wave propagation, Maxwell’s equations, Discontinuous Galerkin, Absorbing Boundary Conditions.
