Abstract

We investigate the study of manipulability for social ranking rules where the goal is to rank individuals given the ranking of the coalitions formed by them. The subject is in the intersection of social choice theory and ordinal power indices. Different so- cial ranking rules have been recently proposed and studied from an axiomatic point of view. In this report we have chosen 4 rules coming from three different families of approach : ordinal Banzhaf (marginal contribution approach), lexcel (lexicographic approach) and Kramer-Simpson like, Copeland like (both, ceteris paribus compa- rison approcah) and analyzed them from the point of view of manipulability. We complete our theoretical results by some simulation analyses computing manipula- tion frequencies.
