Abstract

We explore how to combine optimal control and reliable integration. The goal is to assess that a reusable launch vehicle will fulfill its mission and be recoverable despite the uncertainties during the flight. We will embed these uncertainties into the model by giving an interval of possible values to each parameter. We will tackle the semantic problems that arise when we combine optimality, which is in respect to a specific parameter, and robustness, which concerns a set of parame- ters. Notably, we will theorize three more or less pessimistic enclosures that will bound the possible trajectories of a launch vehicle. We will give insight on how to compute them on simple cases. Finally we will give some applications. This internship will be followed by a PhD thesis. Hence, many parts are no more than ideas to be explored later. We have valued exploration over ending with a finished product.
