Abstract

The rise of 3D-impression lead to question its use in the development of structures, above all its breaking strength. In this context, several surveys tend to evaluate which model could be used to describe the best the crack propagation. Also, we will address the experimental results of Thomas Corre, et we will try to validate numerically the foreseen model on the software named Cast3m (our program will be based on the Zhai Xinyuan’s program). More precisely, we will focus on the crack propagation in a FDM-printed material, for different cracking angles. We will especially evaluate the linear elastic isotropic model in the context of plane deformation, firstly by justifying it, then by testing it for different loading applications and for different morphological parameters, and this always for different cracking angles. We will also conclude that the model is inconsistent with the experimentation, and also is unsuitable to describe correctly the reality, and we will examine which could be the other potential models.
