Abstract
A loudspeaker is meant to reproduce as faithfully as possible a set of sounds with both very wide sound and frequency amplitudes while having both good efficiency and directivity over the entire frequency range [8]. These requirements being hardly achievable, manufac-turers make compromises on their products which therefore do not work perfectly. In order to optimize their sound quality, digital modellings and simulations of the acoustics of these structures are carried out. The purpose of this internship was to implement, in FreeFEM, a 3D extension of an already existing and functional two-dimensional algorithm [1],[2] in order to depict the directivity which is not displayed in 2 dimensions. This 3D code is still incomplete and perfectible yet is close to representing - over the entire frequency range and with a low error - the three-dimensional acoustics radiated by a loudspeaker whose properties are known.
