Abstract

This research internship was about the study of an electroacoustics transducer and more precisely about loudspeakers. The simulation was made on FreeFem, a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, in two dimensions. Perfectly Matched Layers (PML) were added to the simulation. The loudspeaker impedance and the Sound Pressure Level (SPL) were computed at different frequencies to study their evolutions. The SPL is less important by two decibels than the one given in the references. A similar difference of decibels was also found when the pressure is computed using the Rayleigh's integral which is the analytical solution of the problem. I did not manage to fix this error. PML works well at low frequencies even though progress can still be made to enhance its efficiency. However PML does not work at high frequencies
