Abstract

In crossdocking, on-time delivery and limited storage are key issues. With the introduction of uncertainties on truck arrival times, a new scheduling model including groups is adopted. This model allows to build a robust schedule. For this reason, four criteria are defined and calculated to evaluate the quality of a group sequence. These criteria measure the delay and the storage time in the best and worst situations. Finally, these criteria are used to calculate the optimal group size, i.e. the one that guarantees the quality of the group sequence despite the uncertainties.
