Abstract

On September 2020, aircraft campaign has been carried over fourteen days to measure concentrations and variability of CO 2 , CH 4 , CO and O 3 over Siberian lands and seas. Data analyzed originate from thirteen flights covering 25000km and up to 10km altitude. Methane concentrations recorded at high (>2000m) and low altitude (<2000m) are higher (respecti- vely 1930ppb and 2011ppb) than backgrounds (respectively 1887ppb at Mauna Loa, 3397m altitude and 1979ppb at Mace Head, 15m altitude). Increase trends of CO 2 are observed (+2 to +6ppm) over East Siberian seas (Chukchi and Bering) at very low altitude. Some flights are also caracterized by a depletion of ozone close to the stratosphere (-20 to -30ppb). Use of a Lagrangian transport and dispersion of particles model lead to determination of CH 4 sources with a major contribution from wetlands whilst strongest variations are dominated by aquatic sources (freshwaters and oceans).
