Abstract

The purpose of this internship was to study the BICHE model, a power system simulation model developed by Daniel Iracane, and its application to the French power system for the year 2050. A work on the theoretical model as well as on the literature on the modeling of the power system allowed to better understand the model. A bibliographical study on the French power system to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050 has allowed to determine the challenges and to enrich the model in order to simulate the RTE scenarios using the BICHE model. These simulations have shown the relevance of the model to quickly obtain results on the electricity mix. The results obtained on the RTE scenarios have also shown that further studies using the model will be relevant to feed the debates on the future of the electricity mix, and thus help the decision makers in their choices.
