Abstract
The energy transition to sustainable development starts with the integration of renewable energy sources (RES) in order to decarbonize the energy sector. Multi Energy Systems (MES) represent an important opportunity to foster greater and more efficient penetration of RES into the energy system. The aim of this work is to provide the reader with a characterization of MES, their modelling and their potential impact on the grid. A review of the current state of the art in energy storage systems, an essential element of the EMS, is provided. The work ends with a techno economic study of a hydrogen system to ensure the sta bility of a RES high penetrated grid.
