Abstract
Dynamics of diamagnetic cavities from its formation to its structuration has been theoretically and numerically studied. Thanks to CLOVIS, the MHD code developped by the CEA, we have simulated the evolution of a diamagnetic cavity in different conditions. First of all, the cavity’s maximal dimension was compared with an estimation from a simplified theoretical model. Then, the conditions of the experience CRRES G-10 in which atoms of baryum were injected at 33000 km from earth in the 90’s were implemented. We were able to observe a diamagnetic cavity and the apparition of striations. Finally we made a first shot of simulations in three dimensions.
