Abstract

The propagation of ultrasounds in biological tissues is a complex multi-scale phenomenon: the scattered wave is produced by small (compared to the wavelenght) inhomogeneities randomly distributed throughout the media, and the time of fight is affected by the slow (compared to the wavelength) variations of the medium. Its modelisation and numerical simulation require an advanced analysis of Helmholtz equation and the use of stochastic honogenisation techniques. This Master Thesis is a first step towards the reconstruction of a local map of the wavespeed inside a complex biological tissue.
