Abstract

The objective of the internship was to analyse whether it was possible to improve the stability of the UAVs developed by Squadrone System, and in particular to compare the company's hardware and software solution with a commercially available open-source solution. T do this, it was necessary to equip the UAV with sensors that would allow it to estimate its relative and then absolute speed, and to adjust its parameters in such a way that the UAV could fly in automatic and stable flight. By comparing the final flights of the two combinations, and by processing the data from the logs and video taken during the flights, results were obtained and it was found that the commercial combination increased the stability of the drone by half by reducing the window of space occupied by the drone by two. The decision to act on the possible courses of action now rests with Squadrone System.
