Abstract
Droplet freezing is dangerous for different fields, such as the aviation field or the energy sector. In this research project, we aim to better understand the influence of vibrations on droplet freezing. Multiple experiments were carried out, with different vibration frequencies and amplitudes. No clear effect on the droplet freezing time could be deduced from the obtained data, but different freezing shapes could be observed depending on the vibrations. The recalescence phenomenon, where a droplet quickly becomes a mix of ice and water, was also observed even with vibrations. The results can be improved with better controlled external conditions. A theoretical model is proposed.
