Abstract

Drones have grown considerably in the last decade. They have become an essential tool for enhancing human capabilities, particularly in the defence sector. Its rapid development is due to its ease of reconnaissance and exploration in difficult and dangerous environments in order to bring a different vision of the situation to the military on the spot. Today, the drone market is substantial, with many competitors present, each offering a type of drone with a particularity. These can be on its size, its weight, its payload, its autonomy, ... The IT-180 drone developed by Infotron and then bought by ECA Robotics was developed seventeen years ago and was one of the first VTOL aircraft to be on the market. Since then, many newer drones have arrived with advantages : they are smaller, their payloads are newer. In order to remain competitive, ECA Robotics has been looking for a new market share where their drone would be competitive : cargo drones. They want to triple the payload capacity of their drone. The aim of my internship is therefore to find an improvement in the engine’s capabilities to meet these new constraints. Since the beginning of my internship, I have set up an engine test bench on which I could conduct tests in the second part of my internship. In parallel, I have documented the capabilities of the blades of the drone with the objective of determining the power required by the engine at its output to ensure a certain lift depending on its speed and the angle of incidence of the blades.
