Abstract

he present work studies the hydrodynamic forces applied on two adjacent circular cylinders by an oscillating flow. The study is done using a numerical method : CFD simulations with OpenFoam software. The study focus on two main parameters : the Keulegan-Carpenter (KC) number, and the incident angle of the flow. This study has been conducted as a research internship in NTNU’s department of Marine Technology, and takes place in a more global study of structures supporting solar panels to be installed in the Norwegian Sea.
