Abstract
Phase unwrapping is used in several fields, including the reconstruction of the phases of the interferograms of InSAR images. These unwrapped phases give us several information on the area where the image was taken. In this report we will find several phase unwrapping methods which are all based on the gradients of the wrapped phase, we will explain the advantages as well as the disadvantages and the anomalies of each method. These anomalies led to the development of an alternative approach which handles this problem better. Among these methods, the minimum cost flow method which is based on an optimization of flows in a network. Subsequently, a comparison is conducted between the obtained results and those from SNAPHU, a widely recognized phase unwrapping software. The execution time is also compared with that of SNAPHU. Finally, various parameter choices are made to minimize the error in the process.
