Abstract
Flooding from even the smallest streams can cause major damage and a high risk to people in Norwegian municipalities, so identification of critical flooding locations in these streams is essential. However, for many of these smaller streams, individual mapping and simulations is not feasible. The Trygg Elv (Safe Rivers) project seeks to identify variables based off of only terrain data gathered by red LIDAR to find critical locations. To do this, it is necessary to first gather data by individual hydraulic modelling of a certain number of small rivers. I worked on the gathering of data for a machine learning algorithm by running simulations and extracting data over multiple rivers.
